Professional Experience

Axel Schmidt first worked in France as a training consultant for leading French companies and as a lecturer in the Institut Supérieur du Commerce de Paris and a reader in Paris universities. In 2001 he created Schmidt Consulting in Northern Ireland (United Kingdom), which provides advice in the field of human rights law to private organisations and public authorities, assistance in legal proceedings before domestic courts and the European Court of Human Rights, facilitation services between private and public bodies and lecturing.
In 2017 Axel Schmidt was appointed Advocacy Support Manager for the Ulster Human Rights Watch Advocacy Service, which was created to deal with historical cases of victims of terrorism and the legacy of the Past in Northern Ireland.
